How Does It Work?
Spy Video TRAKR comes pre-loaded with programs that allow the user to memorize and retrace mission routes (Path Mapper), to see in the dark (Night Vision), and to experience robotically-enhanced vision (Cyborg Vision). The user can also download free apps such as motion detection, light sensing, voice throwing, etc. There is the option to add an SD card which enables the TRAKR to record photos and video. The 2.4GHz digital radio frequency transmission sends live digital video and audio to a full-color LCD screen and speaker on its remote control. This allows the user to monitor activities elsewhere in the house, wherever the Spy TRAKR is located. There is also an exciting online development kit which allows the user to post and trade his or her favorite apps. With these additional apps the user can program the Spy Video TRAKR to perform as he or she desires.
The Spy Video TRAKR comes with an internal processor, an SD Card slot, an integrated speaker and microphone, and an online development kit (giving users the power to program).
Batteries Not Included
One slight issue with this RC vehicle is the number of batteries that it uses. The unit uses 10 AA batteries, which are not included. That’s a lot of batteries, but they do last a reasonable amount of time. You can mitigate the expense of the batteries by buying rechargeable batteries. It also comes with a USB cord. This allows you to easily transfer the data to just about any computer that has a USB port.
Another slight drawback is that it a little louder than you might expect it to be. Some consumers have indicated that this is an issue, but most have not. In fact, some people felt that it was a quiet toy. So clearly, it may just be a personal preference issue here. When you compare this to other products that children play with, this is in no way the loudest toy.
