Set is an award winning card game is for one or more players. The objective of the game is to recognize and identify sets of three cards. There are 81 unique cards. Each card has four components: color, symbol, shading (fill), and number. The colors are red, green, and purple. The symbols are an oval, a diamond, or a squiggle. The shading options are solid, striped or open fill. The numbers are 1, 2 or 3 — and represent the quantity of symbols on each card. A set is comprised of three cards which either have all the same feature or the features are different on all.
A dealer is selected and he or she lays out twelve cards. These are displayed face up. Then the players need to quickly find logical sets of three cards within this spread of twelve cards. No turns are taken, so the level of competition can be quite high, depending on the audience. This game is very easy to learn, but it is a difficult game to master. It will never get boring. Groups of all ages can play this game together with no need for age-related handicapping. That makes it so much fun for the entire family. The younger players have just as much a chance of winning as the older players and don’t feel as if they are being “babied” by being given extra points or a helping hand. This game is quite addictive and will get the kids off the couch and away from the video games, like Call of Duty Black Ops.

I love the game SET. I learned it in my 6th grade math class, and I got my dad to buy it for me. It has high educational value, and it is lots of fun to play by yourself or with other people. Once, my cousins and Aunts and Uncles were over, and we played SET. For some reason kids catch on faster than adults. After a while it was just us kids who were playing.
