National Geographic’s Uncle Milton Moon In My Room is a great gift idea for children, teens, college students, astronaut wanna-be’s, or even the whimsical adults in your life.
Moon in My Room can serve as a nightlight or an educational tool. It comes with a fifteen minute audio CD which provides the listener with a guided tour of our closest celestial neighbor. The moon itself is designed to hang on the wall. The moon has a textured surface which is thick and curved providing real depth and an accurate representation of the lunar surface. And, like the real thing, this moon cycles through 12 different phases. It operates via an infra-red remote control and requires two AAA batteries.
Moon in My Room is receiving rave reviews from users at Amazon:
You would be crazy not to buy this thing. Gave this to our 6 year old son who is obsessed with anything related to the solar system. He loves it. It is a great size – not too big, not too small – so it can be placed pretty much on any wall of his room without it seeming too close or too far away. He adores it and falls asleep with it every night. Shuts off automatically after 30 minutes, so perfect to drift off to sleep with. My dad also fell in love with it, and will be receiving one for his 65th birthday this year, and our baby will receive one for her room on her 2nd birthday (will not let her play with the remote, however). Neither my Dad nor our baby girl are obsessed with solar system stuff, but they still love Moon in My Room. This will be our go-to gift for all kids’ birthdays this year, absolutely no question about it. A tremendous value for the money.
