Loopz is an interactive memory game which consists of four independent semi-circular rings, or “loopz.” The objective of the game is to follow the machine and repeat the patterns. Loopz plays a song and light pulses in each of the loopz. The loopz flash with ever-quickening patterns of light and music which players must mimic. As each ring lights up, the players must quickly put a hand through the lit loop to keep the musical sequence going. The longer the user can keep his or her streak going, the more difficult the game becomes. Loopz has an internal counter which keeps track of time played, completed levels, and overall performance. There are seven different games, and one to four players can play at any time.
The games are:
- Versus Mode - In this game two players take turns building up and repeating a sequence of patterns until one of the players has made three mistakes.
- Rhythm and Flow — This game allows the user to keep a song going by waving his or her hands through the loops.
- Reflex Master — In this game the user needs to match as many lights as possible during a timed period. This can be played by one or more people.
- Repeat the Beat — This is a single player game with three levels. A light flashes in one of the Loopz and the user must place his or her hand through that loop. The user can only make three mistakes per level or the game is over.
- Musicology – In musicology the user needs to match a random pattern of lights with sounds and repeat the pattern. Five patterns creates a song.
- Freestyle DJ — This game allows the user to be a Disc Jockey. He or she can create music by turning on and off tracks from eleven different songs. By putting his or her hands through two loops at a time, the user can add special effects.
- Music Studio – In music studio the user can create music, and actually play a scale of 10 notes.
