. This Lego set has 1,007 LEGO pieces. The Shark Castle measures 19 inches wide and 12.5 inches tall. The set includes 7 mini-figures. These are three divers: Captain Ace Speedman, Professor Sam Rhodes, and Axel Storm; one Portal Emperor, one Squid Warrior, one Shark Warrior, and one diver skeleton. There are also five Atlantis treasure keys; one each in green, blue, yellow, red and orange.
After you have completed building the set (part of the fun of any Lego kit), it is time to help your divers. The divers have just discovered the Portal of Atlantis, but they must get past many obstacles. These include: Shark guardian statues that come alive; Squid and Shark Warriors; hidden traps; and the Portal Emperor, all of which must be overcome before unlocking the portal with the five Atlantis treasure keys. Players must insert the correct treasure key into the keystone and twist it to open the portal to Atlantis. The Shark mouth will then reveal stairway to the portal; shark guardian sculptures come off and come alive to protect the treasure. The set separates into three parts so you can easily transport it, and the jaw of the huge shark opens and closes for convenient storage.
The lost city of Atlantis has been part of our collective consciousness and has been discussed throughout classical antiquity. Even Plato mentions Atlantis in his dialogues. There have been numerous movies and television shows which have explored the myth of Atlantis. Children are very familiar with the Lego Atlantis theme. There have been a number of Lego Atlantis tie-ins. Most recently there was a Lego Atlantis movie on the Cartoon network. There have been events at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island.
