Never heard of Cuponk? What exactly is Cuponk? Cuponk is an updated take on the old ball-in-cup game. The objective is the same; the user needs to sink his or her ball into the cup. However this time, the cup lights up when the ball is caught. When the user is successful in getting the ball into the cup, Cuponk plays the sweet sounds of victory. If he or she doesn’t make the shot, then he or she will get heckled and the next player gets the chance to attempt to succeed at the trick. Cuponk is structured so that the user must first pick a card to determine what kind of shot he or she must attempt. The card stipulates how the shot must be made and how many attempts the user has to accomplish this task. Anything can become a legitimate playing field: tables, walls, chairs. Anything can be used for the bank shot. There are also trick shots like “Door Jam”, “Stairing” (no, not a typo, use the stairs!) “Contest” and “Wall Banger.” The balls used in Cuponk are slightly heavier than a ping pong ball, so it is suitable for indoor use. Cuponk requires 3AAA batteries not included.

We received this as a gift for our son (10), and had no idea what to expect from it. At our last family night, we decided to take it out. Wow! We played this for hours it was so fun! Essentially, you pick a card and try to make the shot it tells you to. The shot might be to roll it off your nose, one bounce and into the cup. Bounce it off floor, against the wall, and into the cup, etc. It even has cards that allow you to create your own custom shot.
I got this for my father in law as a fun birthday gift and when we got to his house my kids and nieces and nephews LOVED it. I mean, its a cup (that the ball wont bounce out of) and a couple ping pong balls and challenge cards but we ended up playing for hours! It’s a great geometry and physics lesson, too!
