Apple’s latest version of the 13.3-inch Apple MacBook Air — the Apple MacBook Air MC965LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop (NEWEST VERSION) — is, as it has been in the past, a slim, portable and good-looking machine. At half an inch deep, it continues the Macbook Air tradition of being ultra thin, and Apple claim that this Macbook is faster than previous models, but it is also more expensive compared to other models. The question is: is it worth the extra money?

It operates on the latest Mac OS X Lion
Comes packed with a 128GB Solid State Drive.
Powered by a 1.7 Ghz Intel Dual-Core i5 Processor
4 GBs of DDR3 memory
A 13.3-Inch LED display

1440 by 900 screen resolution.
Up to 7 hours of battery time
Straight up, the Apple MacBook Air MC965LL/A is a delight to use. The lack of a hard drive means that this is a very, very quiet machine. It is also considerably lighter that the Macbook Pro (2.9 lbs. as opposed to 4.5 lbs.) It feels solid though, which is important in a portable computer.
The high resolution screen is very easy on the eyes, and the back-lit function is welcome too. I found very little glare form the screen as opposed to other laptops. The keys have a nice action to them, while the touch pad is a generous size, this allows for multiple touch functioning.
I found the Wi-Fi signal strength to be very good, although it did drop twice over four hours. The battery life, while not amazing, is definitely as good as you are going to get in a machine that is designed as thin as this one. Up to seven hours is definitely acceptable, although when I was using this computer under a serious workload, with a number of applications open, I managed to only get 5 hours. Still, quite reasonable.
Performance of the Apple MacBook Air MC965LL/A
I found the performance of the SSD drive on the Apple MacBook Air MC965LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop to be quite impressive. I didn’t expect this type of performance from a “designer” model. The start-up speed is really excellent. Also, Apple has added another USB port to this Macbook Air model. I found this minor change to be a key improvement .Those who work on the go know all about switching devices and flash drives when you only have one port. Adding this additional port really improves productivity.
There is no DVD burner (placing more emphasis on the USB ports) and power to the computer is through the standard Apple Magsafe system.
Shortcomings of the Apple MacBook Air MC965LL/A
The microphone on the Apple MacBook Air MC965LL/A is slightly hidden away by the side, meaning you need to either raise your voice a little bit, or use a headset with a microphone for clarity when talking. This is not really that much of a shortcoming.
The dropped Wi-Fi was a concern, as it had affected a few other people when I looked into it (however, I found that others have had no such problem). Apple has released a patch-(10.7.1 for Lion) for this issue. This will help the stability of the connection, and also addresses one or two other bugs.

Small version of the Apple MacBook Air
If you feel that the 13.3 inch model is too big for you, there is an 11.6-Inch Mac Air laptop. This model is not only smaller size-wise, it is also less expensive as well. If you are interested in the smaller version, click here: Apple MacBook Air MC969LL/A 11.6-Inch Laptop (NEWEST VERSION)
In Conclusion…
I found the overall performance of this machine to be very good. You usually pay for the design aspect, and cutting edge engineering at this level, but not here. Slim line laptops usually means diminished capabilities, but the Apple MacBook Air MC965LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop has me convinced that beautiful can also be effective.
